Hi! I’m Carol.

I wished that I’d known sooner that you don’t have to “turn off your brain” to meditate.

(Spoiler alert: you don’t, and you can’t!) There are so many things like this that I used to think about meditation, like that I had to find a guru… or do a weird ritual… get $100 yoga pants, buy a special cushion, or burn incense. You know all that stuff that seems to have to be part of meditating if you want to do it and reap the benefits?!

Well, many years ago, I studied the history and philosophies of both meditation and yoga and realized how deeply relatable and straightforward they are. Yet too often, the “woo” that many often teach them with can get in the way of someone like you or me practicing and benefiting from consistent meditation.

So, to learn the science, I sought education on how to access the well-researched benefits of both yoga and meditation. With years of study, testing, and practice - I’ve been professionally trained in both of these areas of wellness. My credentials now include certification in Deepak Chopra’s Primordial Sound Meditation method and being a 500-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) recognized by the Yoga Alliance.

And while this expertise drives my teaching, my personal journey with meditation is the oxygen that breathes life into what I do here at Meditate with Carol. I came to meditation after I turned 40. My dad had just died after a long battle with colon cancer, and I was thinking – there has to be more to life than this! I was depleted, stressed, and exhausted because for the past two decades I had been focused on the busyness of life, from taking care of all the things for my family to my extensive volunteer work.

Over time, consistent meditation gave me what I needed: a reachable, powerful practice to put myself first. I was lucky to find teachers who showed me how to use meditation and yoga in real, relatable ways to move past that season, feel more like myself again, and carve out a better chapter on my own.

Maybe you’ve been there? Maybe you’re there now? If you’re part of Gen-X like me – you’re living that “sandwich generation” life – smack dab between your aging parents and your kids, not sure where you fit in or who you are anymore. I know what that’s like down to my bones. Meditation can be your way through it if you feel like it can work for you.

So that’s exactly what I do. It’s what I practice and what I teach. Because if you’re wishing that you felt less stressed and better in touch with who you are and what you want – I can tell you that it’s possible.

It’s time that you were empowered and equipped with easy-to-apply, scientific methods to meditate regularly. You can feel younger, healthier, and more present again. And no, that doesn’t have to mean turning off your brain, becoming a yogi, or becoming someone else. Because there is a way into meditation that will take you to a clearer, better place, and I’m ready to help you find it.

To your way –
Carol
